This is one of the last true diners. It offers friendly service, great food and reasonable prices. They offer breakfast all day and are only open until 2pm. It's the kind of place that remembers you ... even when you move away and only come back once per year. Staff is fantastic and Lois still works the tables. Pam is our favorite and just celebrated 20 years. Portions are large and almost everything is very good. Recommended are: Biscuits and gravy French toast Pancakes Hashbrowns Breakfast Burrito Chicken Fried Steak Meatloaf We have never had a burger here so I cannot say how they are. But our large group ate almost everything else this week. Note - this is not a place for groups unless you sit by 4's. You almost can see Mel, Flo and Vera. Someone always cracks a joke. My kind of place.

What a nice place! It is very cute and I love that it is full of "regulars" who don't even have to consult the menu. And I love that they have daily specials (I have to try the Friday stuffed peppers!). We had a very personable server - Timothy. He was very attentive and kept our coffees full. He was quick to offer a suggestion when asked. I had the western omelet. I am happy that it is available in a 2 or 3 egg size. I often don't order omelets because they can be too large for me. But I am sure that there are plenty of folks that like the 3 egg size. I had the hash browns and an English muffin with the omelet. The potatoes were very good and the English muffin was perfectly cooked (crispy edges, softly buttered center). They have the same ole jellies that most places do - PLUS they offer peach jam and apple butter. Very nice. My mother in law had ham with her half biscuit and gravy. It was a good sized slice of tender smoky ham. Yum. I appreciate that a Lois' you can have hash browns, home fries or fresh fruit - all for the same price as your side! And - they have a wall of local postcards. It is becoming difficult to find postcards, so we were delighted to find such a good selection! Yay, I'm a fan!

Best breakfast hideaway. I love eating at Lois'. The ladies are awesome to interact with and the food is always good.

Lois' is still going strong, and we still eat here regularly, probably more than we should, but we love it here. My ONLY criticism is I wish they would make their pies from scratch, and stop buying Marie Callendar frozen pies, other than that we love the food. It's not a Michelin 5 star restaurant, it's a local family owned and operated diner, plain and simple, it's filled with hard working staff/ family, who serve up full plates of food with love, and there are plenty of regulars who enjoy the fare. When you eat here, you will leave with a happy belly, and more than likely a better attitude about your day, there can be a wait to get a table/ booth, but the turnover is relatively quick, besides, your going to drive around looking for another place and the you'll still have to wait there, so stick around and eat at Lois' Place, you'll not find a better breakfast in Grand Junction, trust me, I've tried them all.

Smells like moth balls, motor oil and stale cigarettes. But the smell soon went away or we got use to it. I had a ham and cheese omelet with fruit and a blueberry muffin. The coffee was good and our waitress dressed in a classic apron suit was chatty and very attentive.

I totally enjoyed my flyin' solo breakfast at this little hole-in-the-strip-mall-wall diner. It's a small place, but on the Saturday morning that I went, they were PACKED! Which always speaks well of a restaurant. I was pleased to find counter-top seating where I could sit on a bar stool next to strangers and watch the busy waitresses breeze past with steaming plates of delicious-looking eggs, and mugs of coffee. It definitely had a busy diner feel, but with personable and timely service with a smile. The place itself is modestly decorated, with a few relics of the past like old Lifesaver's advertisements and other things to keep the eyes busy. I was surprised to see a sizable sky light in the middle of the restaurant which provided a lot of natural light you normally wouldn't get in a strip mall restaurant. Also, they appeared to have a lot of ice cream and pie choices...so I definitely need to hit that up soon! I ordered the half biscuits and gravy which came with hash browns and two sausage patties (or ham or bacon). I also ordered one extra egg. The egg was cooked perfectly as I ordered it (over-medium). The biscuit was tasty, and the gravy had sausage in it, which is always a happy bonus. The menu also had Belgian waffles, pancakes, omelets, and a variety of sandwiches - which I didn't really look at, 'cause I rolled outta bed for breakfast and breakfast ALONE! It all sounded great though. And the best part? Breakfast served ALL DAY LONG! Love it. This would be the perfect place for travelers who are staying downtown to stop in for breakfast. They have a nice selection of post cards to choose from with great pictures of Grand Junction, the National Monument, Mt. Garfield, and the Colorado River. You pay at the front on your way out, so no waiting on the waitress. Give it a try! I'll be going back for sure :)

I am deeply infatuated with Lois' Place. This is the only real Diner in the Grand Junction area. You have your colorful waitstaff, numbered menu items with varying degrees of food quantity, breakfast specials (which gets you a free coffee), milkshakes, and a bar to sit at on your solo missions. They will cook your food however you want it, all you have to do is smile and ask. For me: One egg, two strips of bacon, Rye toast, and (for a small extra fee) hash browns extra crispy. Note: They even have the real kind of english muffins, not that Sara Lee crap (that they will serve with peanut butter, if you ask) to go with your meal! Also: Menus are on the table already so you can get right to business. CLOSED ON SUNDAYS

The food was typical diner breakfast food, which is fine, but I really just want a wait person to bring my food quickly and with a smile. Instead, she put on a one woman cornball comedy show for our benefit. At one point she even grabbed me by the arm and squeezed it really hard! I thought for a second I was getting the bum's rush for not laughing at her jokes. We went on Saturday morning and the place was packed. The tables are crammed right next to each other, and everybody, and I mean everybody was at least sixty. Mine were the only kids in the place, and of course they thought our goofy waitress was funny. Ironically, she was so busy entertaining us that she neglected to refill anyone's beverage during the entire meal. If you're looking for an old fashioned country style diner experience complete with waitresses right off of "Hee-Haw" this is your spot.

how can you not love a waitress that says things like "what the hay?" and "blue berries are our friends. they're nature's body cleansers." and calls you "honey bunch?" this is one of those hole in the wall kinda diners that you hope to find as an out of towner. the girl at our hotel clued us in, and it was right up our alley. the breakfasts were simple, eggs and pancakes and i knew that when i ordered a side of fruit it would probably be from a can, but hell, it was delicious.

LOIS' Place is one of my favorite breakfast restaurants. Its old fashioned decor and down home cooking for a very economical price make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I think of my grandparents. The food is delicious, and the staff is friendly and attentive. It's a tiny and cozy little diner. What a fun experience. NOT McAmerica at all.

This is THE place to go for the busy, cheap, fun, diner breakfast experience. Nothing fancy, but huge yummy portions of food. The waitstaff is friendly and best of all, this is a locally owned, long standing business.
